A1: Please email info@majaawards.com
and ask for a copy of the Maja Awards Application or the Canadian National Gospel
Song Competition Application.
Q2: What are the ages of participants for the Maja
Awards ?
A2: The ages for the Maja Awards range from 7 years of age minimum and there
is NO maximum age.
Q3: If I am not a
Canadian Gospel artistee can I participate in the Maja Awards?
A3: No. The Maja Awards are a Canadian Gospel Award these are mandatory prerequisites.
Q4: I have never recorded
any music before; can I still enter the Maja Awards?
A4: Yes! We consider you a Non-Recording artistee and you are eligible to paticipate
in Gospel Star. Please see Rules - Gospel Star see #8 for more information.
Q5: To enter the Maja Awards
do I have to enter the Canadian National Gospel Song Competition?
A5: No. We have 3 different categories in which Recording and Non-Recording
artistes have the option enter. 1. *Gospel Star* for Non Recording artistes 2.
Canadian National Gospel Song Competition 3. Canadian Recording artistes
Q6: Is there a fee that must
be paid with the Maja Awards Application?
A6: No. The registration fee has been waived for the 2004 Maja Awards.
Q7: Is the Canadian National
Gospel Song Competition (CNGSC) the same as the Maja Awards?
A7: Yes and No! The CNGSC is a song writing competition which is a segment of
the overall Maja Awards Presentation. The CNGSC consists of newly composed and
released compositions which will decide 'Canada's Gospel Song of the Year'.
The Maja Awards comprises of songs which artistes/musicians have previously recorded/performed,
written or composed and the Maja Awards Organization are recognizing their accomplishments.
Q8: Is there a cut off date
as to when Recording artistes’ albums were produced?
A8: Yes. Recording artistes’ albums must have been produced between
the periods of January 1, 2003 and April 30, 2004. Any recordings completed
after April 30, 2004 will only be eligible for the 2005 Maja Awards.
Q9: Can I use one application
if I am entering both the Maja Awards and the Canadian National Gospel Song
Competition?
A9: No. There are 3 separate applications that must be completed for the respective
sections of the Awards Presentation.
Q10: If I am in a choir can
I also submit a song to the Canadian National Gospel Song Competition?
A10: Yes. As a part of the choir you can enter as many categories as eligibility
permits. For the CNGSC, if you are writing/composing a song for the CNGSC then
you can submit up to 2 songs. If you are performing a song for the CNGSC then
you can only perform 1 song. Please see the Rules for further information and
clarification. RULES
Q11: How many Maja Awards
Categories can I enter?
A11: Recording artistes can enter as many Maja Awards’ categories as
eligibility permits (with exception for the CNGSC in which a performer can submit
1 entry and a writer/composer can submit 2 entries). Non Recording artistes can
enter ONE category in Gospel Star. Please see Rules

Q12: Is there a restriction
on what genre of Gospel Music can be submitted to the Maja Awards?
A12: No. While there are special categories assigned to specific genres
there are no restrictions on the genre of Gospel Music that can be submitted
to the 2004 Maja Awards. For example: A Male Vocalist who sings Rock has
the same opportunity as a Male Vocalist for who sings Pop for the category
‘Male Vocalist of the Year’.
Q13: I do not want to participate
in the Maja Awards as an artiste; am I eligible to be a volunteer?
A13: Yes. We are currently looking for people who would like to volunteer
on Promotional/Event Teams. Just send your Name & Phone number to info@majaawards.com
with the header “Volunteer”.
Q14: Are Recording artistes
required to perform in the Nominee Showcases?
A14: No. The Nominee showcases are only for Non-Recording artistes to be evaluated
by the in house Judges.
