- In the Canadian National Gospel
Song Competition a performer can only enter one song and
composer a maximum of two songs (performed by 2 separate
performers).
The Maja Organization and or its parent company reserves
the right to produce all 10 songs submitted by the Top 10
Finalists of the Canadian National Gospel Song Competition
on a compilation/CD/tape for commercial sale, purely as
a fundraiser for the Maja Awards*.
All performers with or without recordings are eligible for
entrance into the Canadian National Gospel Song Competition.
The Maja Organization will hold the right re-record, re-release,
remix or reproduce all of the songs submitted to the competition
from the top 10 Finalists. The right begins from the date
of entry and not to exceed 3 months following the final
Maja Awards Presentation in December 31, 2003.
All songs must be written solely for the competition and
should not have been previously performed and or recorded
for commercial use or sale. After an artist/performer has
been notified that they have been selected as one of the
top 10 Finalists of the CNGSC they will not be permitted
to perform their song (in functions outside of events planned
by the Maja Awards Organization) until after the Maja Awards
(December 31, 2003).
Singers, Producers and Composers recognized as one of the
Top 10 Finalists of the CNGSC are not permitted to record
the same song(s) submitted to the CNGSC until 3 months following
the Maja Awards Presentation in December 2003.
All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized reproduction, duplication
or re-recording or of the compilation is prohibited by Federal
Law.
- The winner of the Canadian National
Gospel Song Competition will be awarded the title of Song
of the Year at the Maja Awards Presentation, cash and or
alternative prizes (to be disclosed at a later date). Prizes
will not be exchangeable for cash and or cash value of prize.
- When entering Canadian National
Gospel Song Competition, a separate demo consisting solely
of 1 Original Song in its entirety must be submitted. No
other song should be on this demo (CD/tape). This demo must
be clearly labelled “Original Song Demo”. For
each Original Song 3 copies must be submitted (ie: A Composer
who writes 2 songs will submit a total of 6 demos; 2 x 3
= 6)
* Partial proceeds from the Maja
Awards Compilation will be awarded to the Artists/Performers
and Composers of all 10 songs up until 12 months expiring
from the Canadian National Gospel Song Competition Compilation
